Our comrade Bahar has been sitting for 4 months in pre trial detention in JVA Lichtenberg.
After 4 court sessions, she was condemned on the 5th appointment, the 31st of January 2025, to 2 years and 6 months in prison.
She was declared guilty of arson, of putting fire at a cop car in front of the US Embassy and of trying to put fire on another cop car during a demonstration in solidarity with the Palestinian and Lebanese people and resistance. Additionally to these charges she faced multiple other accusations, like attacking cops and damage to property infront of the Iranian emabssy!
She was released from prison a few hours after the verdict was announced on 31st January 2025 The judgement cancelled her current arrest warrant. Bahar and her lawyer have lodged an appeal against the judgement. Bahar will be free until the BGH (the higher court) decides.

During the five court dates, on the 10.01.25, 17.01.25, 27.01.25, 29.01.25 and the 31.01.25, when the state decided about her fate, she was held in the high-security court and had to sit in a glass box, isolated from her lawyer and the rest of the room. We strongly despise this tactic of the state to frame her a dangerous individual. The german media was supporting the state in framing her this way.
Newspapers like the B.Z. used her background for building a racist and transphobic narrative. Another tactic of the state during the trialswas breaking the support for her. All the passports of the people who wanted to go into the court room were copied and the people were searched. Additionally to this, it was forbidden to take pictures of the court and the only thing allowed into the court room was a pen and paper provided by them.
On every trial date, there was a manifestation in front of the court. The cops tried to break these manifestations with a lot repression. The strongest examples for this repression are the 27.01.25 and the 31.01.25. On the 27.01.25 at least 9 people got arrested with the charge of “Volksverhetzung” on the base of a newly criminalized slogan, “Zionisten sind Faschisten, morden Kinder und Zivilisten”. Three were taken to Gesa.
On the 31.01.25, when the manifestation was over and all the people wanted to drive to the prison to pick up Bahar, 14 people got held for one and half hours. Here the cops said they heard again the slogan “Zionisten sind Faschisten, morden Kinder und Zivilisten”, but couldn’t seewho chanted it, so everyone still present at that time got arrested. In the end everyone except one person got released with no charges.
On both of these days the cops just came up withexcuses to try to break our solidarity with Bahar.
Nevertheless our solidarity with Bahar will never end and we will always stand with her.
