Call for Anarchist and Autonomous Participation in the Revolutionary March 8 Demonstration in Berlin-Kreuzberg

Feminist Day of Struggle, March 8, 2026
“Rise in Rage. Build in Struggle.”
3 p.m. Kottbusser Tor

“We follow the lead of our Siblings from the Global South, refusing to separate the fight against patriarchy from the fight against imperialism, capitalism, colonialism, and all state violence. Their struggle is our compass.
Join us on the streets for this year’s revolutionary 8th of March demonstration. Let us be loud and clear: We are not here to negotiate, but to escalate. Not to reform, but to overthrow.
We rise in our rage. We build in struggle. Until total liberation.
– Alliance of Internationalist Feminists

On March 19, 1911, the first worldwide Women’s Day of Struggle was mobilized. Left-revolutionary socialists such as Clara Zetkin had pushed for the proclamation of a common International Women’s Day. The date for the feminist day of struggle was deliberately chosen to highlight its revolutionary character: the day before, March 18, commemorated those who fell in the March Revolution of 1848 in Germany, and on that date in 1871 the Paris Commune was proclaimed. In 1921, International Women’s Day was jointly set to March 8.

At that time, March 18 was also an international day of struggle. Today we know this date as the International Day of Solidarity with Political Prisoners. In this spirit, on this year’s Feminist Day of Struggle, we want to draw special attention to FLINTA* (women, lesbians, intersex, non-binary, Trans, agender people), who are imprisoned worldwide in the dungeons of imperialist and colonial states because of their struggle for full liberation, and who there are subjected to torture as well as sexual assault and rape.

For some time now in Berlin, every 1st Saturday in a month the mass demonstration for the freedom of Palestine has taken place, in which we also participate. Because this demonstration would fall on the day before March 8 this year, instead of organizing a separate mass demonstration for Palestine, everyone is called on to join the Revolutionary March 8 demonstration.
On this day, the focus will also explicitly be on Palestinian FLINTA* who are fighting for liberation. Precisely because of their resistance to the ongoing genocide, they are exposed to intensified patriarchal and sexist violence by the ‘Israeli’ occupation forces.
On the Feminist Day of Struggle, their lives and their struggle for liberation should be given particular recognition. We demand the immediate release of our comrades, especially those held in the “Israeli” torture prison “Damon”.

At the founding conference of the IWW (Industrial Workers of the World) in Chicago in 1905, Lucy Parsons, the renowned Black anarchist and activist of the social-revolutionary movement, described women as “slaves of slaves” and advocated the complete liberation of women. She called for the total abolition of the state, capitalism, and patriarchal oppression, thereby challenging both the mainstream labor movement and the bourgeois feminist movements of her time. She represents an early form of intersectional anarchism that links the liberation of FLINTA* with the organization of the workers’ movement and the struggle against racism.

In this spirit, we call on all anarchists, autonomists, and anti-fascists to follow the example of our comrades in the Global South and join the shared struggle for total liberation!
