Screening of “Frontiers of dreams and fears” + Küfa + Call with a comrade living in the Palestinian Dheisheh Camp

This Thursday we want to come together to watch “Frontiers of Dreams and Fears” (2001). The documentary explores the friendship, that evolves between two Palestinian girls—Mona, who was born and raised in the economically marginalized Shatila refugee camp in Beirut, and Manar, who lives in the Dheisheh refugee camp under Israeli control. The two girls begin their friendship as penpals, sharing the similarities and differences of life in the two refugee camps. Mona and Manar are finally able to meet face-to-face at the Lebanese-’48 border during Israel’s withdrawal from South Lebanon. But when the second Intifada suddenly erupts around them, both girls must face heart-breaking changes in their lives. After the screening we want to discuss about the movie and we will have a call with a comrade from Dheisheh to tell us about the situation nowadays in the camp!

As always there is warm vegan food and cold drinks for donation. All the money made goes into publishing a book about the genocide after October 7th in german, written by Israa Mansour, who is from Gaza.
