Anarchists4Palestine held a speech at the rally ‘Free the Ulm5!’ on 23 April 2026 at Oranienplatz in Berlin, reproduced below:
“We are here today to show our unconditional solidarity with our imprisoned comrades, the Ulm 5. We follow their commitment to an organised refusal of the zionist status quo in Deutschland. Their fight here is returns our gaze to the steadfast resistance of the Palestinian people against the zionist occupation. Especially in the context of the Ulm 5’s continuation of their struggle behind bars, the revolutionary tradition from the abolitionist fights that preceded them must be upheld.
Any form of radical action against the zionist entity and its accomplices needs to be guided by the Palestinian prisoners. Their fight deserves our unconditional support materially and ideologically.
In a historical moment where the zionist entity has just announced its decision to legalize the ongoing mass killing of Palestinian prisoners, our focus must continuously be collective and offensive action to fight the infrastructure in the imperial core – here – by any means necessary.
We use this moment here once again to unmistakably state our commitment to follow the lead of our Palestinian, Indigenous, Black, queer comrades all over the world to dismantle the carceral infrastructure of colonialism, capitalism, and the state as such.
Militant action is a necessary tool to dismantle the infrastructures of violence in the genocidal core, whether in the UK, Germany, France, the so-called “USA”, or Japan.
Our solidarity cannot be contained by borders. From the Ulm 5 to the accused in the Prairieland case, from the comrades in Athens to Alfredo Cospito.
We also salute our comrades who have taken action in occupied Turtle Island in the so-called “USA”:
comrade Jakhi McCray, a young Black activist of the Free Palestine movement, who set fire to 11 NYPD [New York Police Dept.] police vehicles in so-called “Brooklyn” in June 2025;
comrade Malik Muhammad, a Black Palestinian queer anarchist who took action during the 2020 Uprising for Black lives in so-called “Oregon”, who fought back against police, and helped prepare their comrades for self-defense; since their arrest in 2020 they’ve been subject to severe psychological torture, including over 250 days of isolation,
and all the others.
The carceral systems needs to be fought against as a whole. It serves only the interests of the death machine of international capitalism and oppresses those who decide to disobey. We say loud and clear: Freiheit für alle Gefangenen.
Our comrades the Ulm 5 have been imprisoned for more than 6 months now under inhumane conditions – isolation for some, medical neglect and illegal withholding of access to a lawyer for others. But we, as their comrades, must refuse the logic of repression. We need to focus again and again on their actions, on their agency, and their decision to break out of performative solidarity and insufficient parades, to take history in their own hands and materially intervene in the genocidal infrastructure to disrupt its flows.
Long live the militant struggle in solidarity with the Palestinian people.
In the words of Jakhi McCray: “We need to switch it up. Solidarity means [..] equal action – equal sacrifice. And not just like statements of support. […] it’s about taking on more. [..] And also a realistic understanding of what you can do where you are.”
Abolish israel
Abolish every prison anywhere
Power to the ULM 5,
power to Jakhi McCray,
Free all Palestinian prisoners!
Free Malik Muhammed!
Free Palestine
Free them all.
