The HU Institute for social sciences as well as the TU buildings dawned with graffiti that highlight the complicity of universities with Israeli institutions that collaborate or benefit directly from the illegal settlements as well as the g*nocide in Gaza.
This happens a few days before the anniversary of the occupation of this building that the students renamed as Jabalia Institute.

German Universities Must Act Now: Complicity in Genocide Has Consequences
We are done waiting, act now or face the consequences.
As we speak, Israel is executing a final solution against an entire population. UN experts have excalimed in a haunting statement released on the 7th of May: “end unfolding genocide or watch it end life in Gaza.”
Following a two month campagin of systematic starvation- total blockade on food, water and medicine, Israel is expanding its military operations with a clearly declared intent: ethnically cleansing the Gaza Strip- echoing the message of leaflets the IDF dropped on Gaza earlier in February, threatening Palestinians to “leave or die.”
In the words of Human Rights Watch: the “latest Israeli plan inches closer to extermination.” More than 370 Palestinians have been massacred just this week. Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has called for Gaza to be “totally destroyed”, adding, “we are finally going to occupy the Gaza Strip” and “there are no innocents in Gaza.” Prime Minister Netanyahu has openly promised to maintain military control over all of Gaza “indefinitely.”
Meanwhile, the US has announced the plan to “relocate one million Palestinians to Libya.” These are not rogue voices — they are the architects of current policy. The UN Special Rapporteurs and Amnesty International have confirmed this is genocide in motion. EU’s former top diplomat Josep Borrell has warned: “We’re facing the largest ethnic cleansing operation since the end of the second world war in order to create a splendid holiday destination once all the millions of tonnes of rubble have been cleared from Gaza and the Palestinians have died or gone away.”
This is not a conflict; it is the systematic destruction of a people.
German universities are not bystanders. Our institutions hold formal ties with Israeli academic institutions that directly support and enable the military occupation and apartheid regime: TU Berlin is researching on submarines to more effectively kill Palestinians, as well as working together with 10 Israeli partner or companies, which provide weapons or funding to Israel. For HU Berlin we count 9 – meanwhile the HU Berlin administration is too busy criminalising students to understand material connection to Israel means enabling a genocide. We have witnessed – shoutout to Blumi – how you provide Israel ideological cover to carry out the most horrific war crimes by repeatedly reciting Hasbara talking points that manufacture consent for genocide, as well as repressing dissent on campus and weaponsing antisemitism to silence and demonise the students who dare to speak up. Hand in Hand with press and cops you ensure dissent will escalate as you drag us-after choking us, molesting us, criminalising us- out of our shared buildings, in front of courts, instead of holding the German State accountable, enabling dissent and pushing a Stop to the Horror, the genocide we witness in real time. Your silence is not neutral — it is an active shield for mass slaughter. Your investement into military research and legitimising Israels killing is not neutral – it is backed and crafted by the German state, by our political parties, by every single one of you, who does not act up. And your complicity carries the weight of a unique historical responsibility.
Germany being one of Israel’s top arms suppliers is no coincidence – German richest are getting richer by the minute, profiting off Genocide, as they did in the Nazi regime. The same schools sending their students to concentration camps in the Nazi regime are now monitoring their politically active students closely, enabling an Exmatriculation law first introduced by right-extremist AfD and criminalising among others anti-Zionist Jews AGAIN. We hope UdK Berlin did not forget how their buildings once housed one of the main Gestapo prisons in Berlin – which ironically mainly focused on political opposition-, deporting and torturing resistance and enacting genocide on the very earth we stand on now, which is still drenched in blood as the Nazi continuities support the next Genocide. While our institutions hold cynical ceremonies to commemorate past genocides in which they were actively involved, our funding, research partnerships, and silence are helping facilitate one in real time. We are telling you clearly: normal life will not continue on our campuses. Student dissent, protests and occupations will escalate until there is real action. We demand you to listen to your students, who over and over again have voiced their demands to you. If you still claim, you do not know, we as autonomous students of various institutions will repeat them again in our words: 1. Immediately cut ties with Israeli institutions complicit in apartheid and genocide, 2. Publicly call for an arms embargo on Israel, 3. Support divestment from all institutions and companies complicit in this destruction. 4. Drop all charges against students and faculty members protesting genocidal complicity. 5. get a grip and adress your Nazi history, your colonial history, the genocidal ground you are standing on. Adress your profit from the murdered, abused and dehumanised, you build our institution on. If you cannot stand against a genocide while it happens, your institutions have no claim to moral relevance. “Never again” means nothing unless it means never again for everyone — including the Palestinians, including the Kurdish, Sudanese and Congolese people and all the ones murdered by the police and Frontex, as enabled by your white supremacy.
